Terms of Service

Effective July 14, 2026

The service

GateCheck generates implementation quizzes for GitHub pull requests and reports results through GitHub checks. It may optionally close pull requests after an incorrect submission or after a configured period without a PR update or new commit when an organization member enables those settings. A pull request with an exact keep label is exempt from inactivity-based closure.

Your responsibilities

You must have authority to install or configure the GitHub App and submit repository content for processing. Organization settings are shared and may be changed by any active organization member. You are responsible for coordinating configuration changes, configuring repository rules, reviewing requested permissions, informing repository contributors about the quiz and automatic-closure workflows, and ensuring your use complies with applicable policies and law.

AI-generated output

Questions and grading keys are generated by automated systems and may be inaccurate. Do not use the service as the sole basis for employment, disciplinary, security-critical, or other high-impact decisions. Maintainers remain responsible for code review and can reopen a closed pull request.

Acceptable use

Do not abuse the service, evade usage limits, interfere with its operation, probe other installations, or submit content you are not authorized to process. We may rate-limit or suspend abusive use.

Availability and warranty

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages resulting from use of the service.

Termination

You may stop using the service by uninstalling the GitHub App. We may suspend access for abuse, security risk, or legal requirements.
